Prioritizing Engagement for a Podcast
Who
A national political podcast came to us with a specific need.
What
Politics spark up a lot of conversation, especially on social media. That’s why this client was expecting to see a lot more engagement on their page. However, their posts were getting almost no interaction on Instagram. They came to us with the goal to triple their engagement across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
How
We discovered that bots were almost completely eliminating the possibility for their Instagram account to reach anyone.
We first made sure those were eradicated and then went through a “detox” of their Instagram page. Then, we focused our social media posts on engagement-centric content, asking hard-hitting questions of followers and adding calls to action to drive activity on every post, all while sticking to their brand that was both thought-provoking and professional.
We then employed our engagement strategies, reaching their audience of political pundits.
Greater reach from sharing daily Stories, retweeting trending topics, and tagging the show guests to spread the posts to their audiences.
On the paid side, we ran location-specific ads on Facebook and Instagram ads to get engagement on posts.
Results
Through our consistent efforts, we were able to achieve a steady increase in engagement across their social media platforms on a monthly basis. During our time working with them, this client also expanded to a number of national radio shows and likewise grew their overall reach.
On Facebook, we achieved as many as almost 4,800 reactions to posts in one day.
